Associate Attorney
Latham Keele Lehman Ratcliff Carter & Clarke is seeking an Associate Attorney with 0–2 years of experience to join our growing litigation team in Tulsa or Oklahoma City.
This position is ideal for an attorney who is looking to build a strong foundation in litigation and gain meaningful hands-on experience. The Associate Attorney will work closely with experienced attorneys and have opportunities to participate in all stages of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
Responsibilities
· Assist with litigation matters from inception through resolution with the expectation of learning to handle cases self-sufficiently.
· Identify, locate, contact and meet with witnesses.
· Draft pleadings, discovery, and other legal documents.
· Assist with written discovery and document review, including medical records.
· Create timelines, chronologies and other case related aids.
· Assist with preparation for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
· Prepare case materials, exhibits, and witnesses for hearings and trial.
· Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties.
· Create accurate and timely status updates to client.
· Identify and analyze legal issues, claims, defenses, and evidence.
· Work closely with partners, associates, and support staff to develop case strategy.
· Manage assigned tasks and deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy.
Qualifications
· J.D. from an accredited law school.
· 0–2 years of legal experience.
· Licensed and in good standing with the Oklahoma Bar Association, or eligible for admission.
· Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
· Interest in developing a career in litigation.
Prior litigation experience is a plus but is not required.
